AiW Graduate Portfolio Show

I TOOK A TRIP TODAY! :D

So today I went to the graduate portfolio show at the Art Institute of Washington, which was located at the National Building Museum. But you already knew that. Anyway, this blog is supposed to be about the things I learned or thought were neat at the show. Honestly, I didn't get to experience a whole lot because we were not allowed to talk to the graduates and the work loses meaning without the artists explanation as to why or how it was created. But what I did see was kind of cool I suppose, but I think a lot of the artists worked on their booth and their presentation more then their work in general. I was disappointed in the graphic design section, I really didn't see anything in any of the exhibits that "wowed" me, it just looked like the same old stuff. However, I did enjoy the exhibits in the game design section, they all looked like they worked very hard on their art and it showed. I especially liked Daniel Araya's booth (reading his name off his business card). All in all, the portfolio show was not a very enlightening experience and I really didn't learn a whole lot from it, well other then the location of where I will graduate in about three years.
Peace.
